Trust service by ID&Trust
Benefit from enhanced security when signing electronic documents with our advanced electronic signature
WHEN DO YOU NEED A WRITTEN CONTRACT?
Contracts must be in writing only if it is required by law or the parties themselves.
Contracts subject to written form must be drawn up in writing, on paper or electronically. Electronic documents that are time-stamped and signed with advanced electronic signatures tick all the legal boxes for written contracts.
WHAT DOES TRUST SERVICE MEAN?
The EU’s 2016 regulation on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions (eIDAS) has greatly impacted digital identity solution providers and users alike. It offers a uniform legal framework for electronic signatures across the member states and makes a clear distinction between “simple” electronic signatures, advanced electronic signatures and qualified electronic signatures, the strictest type of all signatures.
As per eIDAS, an electronic signature qualifies as advanced electronic signature if it is:
- uniquely linked to and capable of identifying the signatory,
- created in a way that allows the signatory to retain control,
- linked to the document in a way that any subsequent change of the data is detectable.
Under the regulation, ID&Trust is a non-qualified trust service provider of advanced electronic signature solutions, which allow you to sign and execute electronic contracts without being physically present.
